Welcome!      

We are making significant changes to the 2021 Summer Leadership Camp due to COVID-19. Please note that these changes are temporary to allow us to have camp this year. We will be implementing necessary changes to be in compliance with state guidelines and American Camp Association recommendations. The reflected changes were developed based on capacity restrictions, budget, and the overall health and safety of our campers. Please note the following changes listed below: 

Summary of Registration Changes

  • Capacity of each week will be limited:
    • Covington: Approximately 250 people per week
  • No large county registration day
  • All advisors and chaperones are full price ($200)
  • Advisor children 4 and up are full price ($200)
  • No pre-camper programs for advisor children
  • No deposit required, full balance is due upon arrival
  • New registration steps (see below for more information)

We are excited about having you at SLC! This guide is designed to give you all the information you need to plan a successful trip to camp. Please take some time to explore all the information, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions!


Dates and Rates      

2021 Dates: 

  • Week 1: May 31-June 4
  • Week 2: June 7-June 11
  • Week 3: June 14-June 18
  • Week 4: June 21-June 25
  • Week 5: June 28-July 2

2021 Registration Rates: 

  • Students: $200
  • Advisors: $200
  • Chaperones: $200
  • Advisor Children: $200

2021 Deposit

  • The deposit per student is NO LONGER required to register. We strongly encourage teachers to collect deposits as they secure commitment from students. 
  • Full Balance is due upon arrival at camp. 

Advisor Registration

  • We will NOT be offering the one free advisor per 10 students from a single chapter for the 2021 SLC. 
  • All advisors are asked to pay the $200 registration fee, regardless of the number of student attendees. 

Chaperone Registration

  • We will NOT be offering the free registration for non-advisor adult chaperones (such as a parent) that are needed to supervise the gender of students if there is not an advisor for both genders. 
  • All chaperones are asked to pay the $200 registration fee. 
  • All chaperones must be at least 21 years of age. They must be approved by your school administration and follow school's chaperone policies. Chaperones must sign the Advisor Expectations form and follow all camp policies. 

Advisor Children Registration

  • Children of advisors age 4 and up will not receive the reduced rate this year. Children of advisors age 4 and up will be asked to pay the same registration fee as students ($200). 
  • Children 3 and under will remain free. 
  • We will NOT be offering the Pre-Camper program during the 2021 SLC. 
  • Advisor children will not be allowed to compete in "Team of the Week" competitions. 

Capacity      

We will limit each SLC week's capacity to approximately 250 people

Chapter Capacity: A maximum of 35 chapters will be allowed to register each week of SLC. A weekly chapter capacity will be developed based on the total number of registered chapters for each week of summer camp. See example calculations below: 

  • Ex. If 35 chapters are registered for Week 1 of SLC, a chapter will be allowed to bring 7 total individuals. The total number of individuals must include students, teachers, chaperones, and advisor kids.

  • Ex. If 25 chapters are registered for Week 4 of SLC, a chapter will be allowed to bring 10 total individuals. The total number of individuals must include students, teachers, chaperones, and advisor kids.

  • Ex. If 10 chapters are registered for Week 5 of SLC, a chapter will be allowed to bring 25 total individuals. The total number of individuals must include students, teachers, chaperones, and advisor kids.


Who Can You Bring to Camp?      
  • Members: Any dues-paid member of your FFA or FCCLA Chapter who you believe will be a good representative of your chapter and school. All students must attend with their chapter - no individual registrations are accepted. IMPORTANT NOTE: By registering students you agree:  (1) These students are dues-paid members of FFA or FCCLA. (2) You will bring or pre-arrange an adult chaperone for males and females if you bring them.

  • Advisors of FFA and FCCLA chapters. If you are attending SLC during your post planning, you may not use those days for extended year days.

  • Adult Chaperones: Advisors are responsible for ensuring at least 1 adult per 10 students. You must arrange an advisor or chaperone for EVERY gender of students you bring. If you do not have enough chaperones, contact another advisor before camp to make arrangements. Inform the camp of any arrangements at least one week prior to camp. All chaperones must be at least 21 years of age. They must be approved by your school administration and follow your school's chaperone policies. Chaperones must sign the Advisor Expectations form and follow all camp policies.

  • Graduated Seniors: Graduated senior FFA or FCCLA members who graduated in the current year may attend. Anyone who graduated high school before the current year may NOT participate as a member.

  • Advisor Children: Children of advisors may attend. Advisor children ages 4 and up will NOT receive a reduced rate and will be asked to pay the full registration amount of $200. If they are not FFA/FCCLA members, they will not be allowed to compete in "Team of the Week" competitions during the week. Check with your school system to ensure that there are no additional restrictions on bringing your child to camp. Children age 3 and under are free. Children age 5 and over cannot stay in the cabin of the opposite gender.

Step One: Complete the Online Pre-Registration Form      

If your chapter intends on attending Summer Leadership Camp, you must submit your Pre-Registration form. 

*Note: All chapters who intend on attending SLC will complete their pre-registration on the same day. We will NOT have a Large County Registration day. Pre-Registration will be a time-sensitive registration process. Pre-Registration will open promptly at 7:00 AM on February 24th. Weeks will fill quickly, and registrations will be processed in the order that they are received. 

The pre-registration link will allow you to secure your week of summer camp. A maximum of 35 chapters will be allowed to register for each week of SLC. Individual chapter capacity will be determined based on the total number of chapters registered for each week of SLC.

*NEW - County Registrations: Country registrations will be accepted on the pre-registration date. On the pre-registration form, you will be required to indicate the total number of chapters that you are registering for. You will only be allowed to register chapters within your county. A maximum number of 10 chapters can be registered under 1 pre-registration. Ex. April Davis will complete the pre-registration process on behalf of Jackson County Schools. April will indicate on the pre-registration form that she will be registering for 10 schools.

  • After you submit your Pre-Registration form, the advisor that completed the pre-registration form will be required to complete a Breakdown of Chapters form that you have registered for. A form will be provided for you to complete. Only one breakdown of chapters form will need to be completed. The Breakdown of Chapters form will be due by 5:00 PM on Pre-Registration day. Ex. April Davis will complete the Breakdown of Chapters form on behalf of Jackson County Schools.

Pre-Registration Opens:

Date: February 24, 2021

Time: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

*Note: ALL SLC Pre-Registrations must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Pre-Registration Day. Pre-Registration will close promptly at 5:00 PM. Contact the Center if you need to register beyond Pre-Registration Day.

*Note: ALL SLC Breakdown of Chapters forms must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Pre-Registration Day.

The registration link will become active at this time.

Weeks will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Note: Some weeks may reach capacity within minutes of registration opening (typically the earlier weeks). Please identify a second-choice week in case your week is full.

Note: Deposits are NOT required this year.

Step Two: Complete the Online Registration Form      

All advisors who participated in the Pre-Registration will be asked to individually submit their chapter's information in the Registration form. 

*Note: Registration opens at 7 AM and closes at 5 PM. 

The registration link will require you to list your confirmed total number of individuals.  The total number of individuals must reflect the total number of students, total number of advisors, total number of chaperones, and total number of advisor kids. You can register up to the indicated chapter capacity for your chosen week of camp. Individual chapter capacities will be provided to you at the conclusion of the Pre-Registration day. In addition to your total number of individuals, you will be asked to provide a breakdown of males and females. We will use this information to determine if additional space is available for each week of SLC. Note: Advisors are responsible for ensuring at least 1 adult per 10 students. You must arrange an advisor or chaperone for EVERY gender of students you bring.

IMPORTANT: Your chapter will be responsible for paying for the number of individuals you register on this day.

  • If you have a student cancel after this day, you will only be charged $100 for that student.
  • If you have a student cancel after this day due to a significant medical concern, there will not be a charge for that student.
  • If a chapter or student has to cancel due to COVID-19 or if a student fails a medical pre-screening, you will not be charged. The medical pre-screening procedures will be sent to teachers at a later date.   
  • No Deposit is due to secure spots. Full balance is due upon arrival.

Registration Opens:

Date: March 24, 2021

Time: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

*Note: ALL SLC registrations must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Registration Day. Registration will close promptly at 5:00 PM. Contact the Center if you need to register beyond Registration Day.


Step Three: Updates      

Email the camp if you have any changes to your numbers or male/female breakdown.

  • If you have students cancel any time after the March 24th Registration, you will be charged a $100 fee, not the full $200 registration fee, for each student that cancels.
  • If you have a student cancel after this day due to a significant medical concern, there will not be a charge for that student.
  • If a chapter or student has to cancel due to COVID-19 or if a student fails a medical pre-screening, you will not be charged. The medical pre-screening procedures will be sent to teachers at a later date.   

Based on completed registrations, we will determine if additional space is available for each week of SLC.

We will update you with information regarding additional space if it becomes available. 


Step Four: Complete the Online Medical Forms      

Online Medical Forms will become available in April 1, 2021.

  • Use the link located in the module to the right to complete the online medical form.
  • Medical Forms are due May 10th.

Step Five: Complete the Online Final Registration Roster      

Final Registration Rosters will become available on April 1, 2021. Rosters are due on May 10th. Even if you anticipate that some changes may occur, it is important that you complete the Final Registration Roster.


Step Six: Check in At camp      

Check-in will occur at the Ag Center. Students are asked to remain outside during check-in. You will need to have the following items at check-in:

  • Completed Online Advisor/Chaperone Expectations form for every adult attending SLC. Online forms will become available on April 1st. 
  • Completed Online Medical form for every student attending SLC. Online Medical Forms will become available on April 1st. 
  • Accurate Final Registration Roster
  • Full payment

Payment Methods

  • Check or cash are accepted. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • Please makes checks payable to Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center.
  • Separate advisor receipts are available.
  • Note that we can only give a receipt in an advisor's name if the payment comes directly from the advisor.
  • We accept personal checks from advisors, but we will not accept personal checks from students or parents.
  • Payment Invoices are available.  

Times

Check-In on Monday will be from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM 

Check-In Location

Check-In will occur at the Ag Center. We will have signs and staff directing you, but it is the first driveway on the right after you pull onto Camp Road. 

Roster and Release Forms

If you have submitted your Final Registration Roster and all of your students have completed their Release Forms, then Check-In will go quickly. Both forms are due on May 10th. 

Medications

Tell your students to keep medications packed in a way that is easily accessible. Bring in any controlled medications when you check in. Remember they must be in the original prescription bottle, and should only be enough for the week of camp. Daily pill sorters are not permitted. 

Advisor/Chaperone Forms 

Every adult must complete the Advisor/Chaperone Expectations form. The Online 2021 Advisor / Chaperone Forms will be available in April 2021. 

Door Prizes

You can earn points for your team by bringing a door prize per team. Usually about a $10 value. They are due Tuesday by noon if you want points.
