Weekend Adventure Camp
Adventure Camp provides
an environment for parent and child to share an exciting time
together, enjoying new experiences and developing memories! This
is a perfect time opportunity to spend that quality time together
that you have been looking for.

Camp is for boys and girls ages 7-10 plus an adult.

1 child and 1 adult
- Includes: 4 meals
(Fri Su - Sat Su), 1 night lodging, activities, snacks, t-shirts
Add $75 for an additional child or adult

Schedule
Activity Descriptions:
- Fishing:Adults
and children will have the opportunity to fish at a stocked catfish
pond. The camp will provide all of the equipment, bait, and staff
to assist as needed. Campers are welcome to bring poles if they
want.
- Archery: Adults
and children get participate in an archery skills class. The camp
will provide all equipment and instruction. The class the instructor
will teach the participants how to properly use a bow. The participants
will develop their skills by practicing on a round 10 ring target.
After developing his/her skills, campers will participate in an
archery tournament using 3-d animal targets.
- Horses: Each participant
will learn about basic horse care skills, including: handling,
grooming, & tacking. In addition, the children will learn
basic riding skills. The kids will participate in arena rides,
which will be hand lead by the parents. The camp will provide
all equipment, helmets, and trained staff.
- Climbing Wall
& Zip line: Adults and children will be provided an opportunity
to participate on the high ropes course. Participants will climb
up the 40' climbing wall to use the 300' zip line. During the
class each participant will learn about the different belaying
techniques that will be used on the ropes course. The camp will
provide belay equipment, harnesses, helmets, and trained instructors.
- Canoeing: Adults
and children will venture on a guided canoe trip on Lake Jackson
to Newton Factory Shoals. Participants will learn basic paddling
and stroke techniques. The camp will provide canoes, paddles,
lifejackets, and staff.
- Campfire: All campers
will trek to the campfire location, where there will be campfire
stories and smores. After the campfire program, the staff will
guide campers on a night hike back to camp.
Lodging
- Lodging will be
in bunk cabins. These are very nice, new bunk cabins with A/C
and heat, and they have nice bathrooms inside the cabin. Click
for photos of the cabins. There are mattresses on the beds
and toilet paper in the stalls - you will need to bring everything
else. Groups will be divided by different gender groups (example
- one cabin for male adults with male children, one cabin for
female adults with female children, etc.)
Food
- The Georgia FFA-FCCLA
Center provides excellent meals - not your traditional camp food.
Let the camp know if you have special needs (example - vegetarian,
severe food allergies, etc)
Facility
- The program is
hosted by the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center, a facility that has served

Parent/Child Format
- The program is
designed towards one child and one adult. The adult can be a parent
or an adult guardian. You may choose to bring an additional child
or adult for an additional fee, but understand that most of the
program is designed towards a one-to-one ratio.
